Job summary

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Special Education to begin Fall 2027. This 9-month, tenure-track or tenured position requires a Doctorate in Special Education or related field, PreK–12 certification/eligibility, and demonstrated teaching effectiveness for online and face-to-face courses.

The successful candidate will mentor students and serve on multiple committees, with regular on-campus presence.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Special Education or related field is required.
• ABD candidates may be considered for Assistant Professor if degree is completed before appointment.
• Associate Professor candidates must meet rank and tenure qualifications.
• PreK–12 special education certification or eligibility is required, with classroom experience.
• Demonstrated teaching effectiveness or potential in face-to-face and online courses.
• Experience in public schools and Diagnostician Certification are encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Teach across modalities, including face-to-face and online undergraduate and online graduate courses.
• Mentor students and participate in departmental, college, university, and professional committees.
• Attend campus and workplace on a regular schedule and engage in service activities.
