Slippery Rock University invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor in the Special Education Department beginning August 2027. The position involves teaching 12 credits per semester (four courses), with a schedule that follows the CBA and is based on the main campus.

The role requires teaching across undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs, supervision of student teachers, and active engagement in assessment, program development, and scholarly activity.

Competenze

• Doctorate in special education or related field is required.
• Certification in special education is required.
• Three or more years experience teaching students with disabilities within the K-12 setting.
• Evidence of potential for scholarship and research agenda is expected.
• Evidence of ability to engage undergraduate and/or graduate students in research.
• Evidence of ability to engage with students through advisement and mentoring.
• Evidence of potential to obtain grant funding for research and/or training activities.

Mansioni

• Teach undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs in Special Education.
• Supervise student teachers and field students.
• Contribute to accreditation efforts, assessment, and program development.
• Engage in community partnerships and university service.
• Teach both face-to-face and online courses; may include off-campus instruction.
