Job summary

The University of Utah College of Social Work invites applicants for multiple 9‑month open rank tenure‑track positions at Assistant/Associate Professor. The appointees will pursue scholarly research and instruction at undergraduate (BSW) and graduate (MSW) levels, stressing mental health, child welfare, addictions, diversity and technology in social work practice.

Successful candidates will have a strong scholarly record, perform teaching with excellence, and seek external funding.

Qualifications

PhD in social work or closely related field by appointment
MSW strongly preferred
Evidence of scholarly publishing and external funding as applicable
Proven teaching excellence and student support record
ABD candidates may apply if dissertation defense occurs before appointment

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in social work
Design, deliver and assess course content
Engage diverse learners with inclusive teaching methods
Conduct original research and publish in peer‑reviewed venues
Generate external funding to support research initiatives
Present findings at conferences and professional gatherings
Contribute to curriculum development and accreditation efforts
Engage with the community and professional organizations to promote social work values
