Job summary

The University of Utah College of Social Work invites applications for a 12-month Career-Line faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor (Lecturer) with administrative and teaching responsibilities in the BSW and MSW programs. The candidate selected will serve as the Associate Director of Online Programs and Lecturer for courses in the BSW and MSW programs.

This non-tenure track role includes oversight of online programs, supervision of instructional designers, curriculum

Qualifications

• MSW degree from a CSWE-accredited program is required.
• A Doctorate (Ph.D. or DSW) in Social Work is preferred.
• Minimum of three years of post-MSW social work practice experience; five or more years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative leadership and strategic oversight for the College of Social Work's online programs, including budgeting, accreditation compliance, and collaboration with university partners.
• Supervise and support instructional designers to ensure the effective development and delivery of high-quality online learning experiences.
• Support faculty curriculum developers with training and resources to support high-quality online instruction consistent with best practices and innovative methods in online pedagogy.
• Promote online student success by supporting recruitment, orientation, retention, advising collaboration, and resolution of student concerns while maintaining clear communication of program policies.
• Support engagement of online faculty, students, and the broader CSW community.
• Teach online courses, contribute to curriculum development, participate in college committees, and foster collaborative relationships.
