The Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign seeks a full-time Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor with expertise in land-use and environmental planning. Qualifications

• Required– assessment of applications will focus on fit with the position description, research program, and approach to teaching, research, and engagement.
• Assistant Professor level requires promising research agenda and strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching.
• Associate/Full levels require demonstrated excellence in research, teaching, and service.
• ABD applicants who expect to complete their Ph.D. before start date are welcome.
• Preferred – contribution of service to the field.
• Social justice dimensions and commitments to equity through teaching, research, and community engagement are encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Develop and conduct a compelling research program in land-use and environmental planning.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate planning courses and supervise student work.
• Engage with communities, stakeholders, and cross-disciplinary collaborators.
• Contribute to the department’s mission and program offerings.
