Job summary

The University of Illinois Urbana‑Champagne, Department of Urban and Regional Planning, invites applications for tenure-track rank positions at Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor levels in land-use and environmental planning.

We welcome applicants with diverse methods and interests, including data science, ethnography, and community-engaged research, with emphasis on equity and social justice in planning practice.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in planning or related fields is required; ABD candidates considered.
• Assistant Professor level requires a promising research agenda and commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching.
• Associate/Full Professor levels require demonstrated excellence in research, teaching, and service.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver courses on land-use and environmental planning for undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs.
• Lead and publish a research program with engagement components and opportunities for community impact.
• Contribute to departmental teaching, service, and mentoring of students and junior faculty.
