Job summary

Nevada State University’s Psychology & Counseling program invites applications for three tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in Psychology. The primary location is the Henderson campus, with teaching in General Psychology, Statistics/Research Methods, Capstone, and other courses; 24 credits per academic year.

We seek individuals dedicated to undergraduate teaching excellence, research involvement, and mentoring a diverse student population.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Psychology or closely related field, or ABD with PhD completion by July 31, 2027.
• Excellence in undergraduate teaching with active-learning techniques.
• Experience teaching core psychology courses and ability to teach multiple sections.
• Commitment to working with a diverse student population.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Teach lower- and upper-level psychology/counseling courses in multiple formats (in-person, hybrid, online).
• Teach 24 credits per academic year (four courses per semester).
• Dedicate about half of load to core courses in psychology.
• Advise majors/minors and serve on committees.
• Engage in scholarly activity in discipline or teaching and learning.
• Ability to teach Intro Psychology, Statistics/Research Methods, Capstone (Psy 375/490), and other area courses.
