Job summary

Lamar University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Computer Engineering, beginning Fall 2026. The department seeks candidates with strong funded research records and industry experience; associate level may be considered for exceptional candidates.

The successful candidate will teach undergrad and graduate courses, supervise theses, and build an externally funded program. Collaboration with industry and government is encouraged.

Qualifications

• PhD in computer engineering or closely related field with anticipated completion by Aug 2027.
• Bachelor's and PhD degrees in computer engineering; EE degrees acceptable if related.
• Proven potential for excellence in teaching and research.
• Ability to attract external funding and collaborate with industry/government.

Responsibilities

• Teach core and elective computer engineering courses at undergrad and grad levels.
• Supervise student projects, theses, and dissertations.
• Establish an externally funded research program and pursue collaborations.
• Contribute to departmental, college, and university service.
