Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in structural engineering. Start date August 2027.

Teaching is a central responsibility with emphasis on structural analysis, reinforced concrete and steel design, and AI-enabled instruction. The successful candidate will pursue an externally funded research program, mentor undergraduates and graduate students, and contribute to service.

Formación

• PhD in civil engineering or closely related field with a specialization in structural engineering by the time of appointment.
• Prior teaching experience and ability to teach structural analysis, reinforced concrete, and steel design; mentoring students.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or clear pathway and commitment to licensure.
• Demonstrated expertise in structural mechanics, analysis and design; potential to establish externally funded research program.

Responsabilidades

• Teach multiple undergraduate and/or graduate courses each semester, typically 2 courses per semester (2-2).
• Establish and sustain an externally funded research program in structural engineering and mentor students.
• Contribute to service activities within the department, college, university, and professional communities.
