Job summary

Lamar University invites applications for a tenure-track open rank professor position in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. Candidates with expertise in education, AI in CBE, cybersecurity in the chemical process industry, natural gas processing or alternative fuels will be prioritized.

The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research, and service in a collaborative academic environment.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate and Ph.D. degrees from an accredited university in chemical engineering or a closely related field.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• A strong record of research and publications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in chemical and biomolecular engineering, in alignment with curriculum and goals.
• Establish and maintain an independent, externally funded research program; publish in peer‑reviewed journals and present findings.
• Contribute to department, college, and university through committees, curriculum development, accreditation, outreach, and governance.
• Other duties may be assigned to support teaching, research, and service missions.
