Lamar University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Computer Engineering, beginning Fall 2026. We seek candidates with strong research records and teaching prowess at undergraduate and graduate levels, with emphasis on externally funded programs and collaboration with industry and government.

Candidates with semiconductor, microchip design, and embedded systems expertise are encouraged to apply, including VLSI/ASIC/SoC, hardware security, and edge computing.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. must be completed by Aug 2027 or later.
• Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and research.
• Evidence of ability to attract external funding.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach core and elective courses in computer engineering at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Supervise student theses and dissertations.
• Establish and maintain an externally funded research program.
• Collaborate with industry and government partners; contribute to service.
