Loyola Marymount University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Postproduction in the School of Film and Television. The successful candidate will join the Department of Film and Television Production to teach editing across undergraduate and graduate levels and to contribute to LMU’s teacher-scholar model in a diverse, inclusive setting.

We seek a scholar-practitioner with strong editing credentials, a commitment to social justice, and the ability to mentor students toward

Qualifications

• MFA in Production or a terminal degree and at least 5 years of professional editing experience as the primary editor of fiction and/or non-fiction works.
• At least 2 years of university-level teaching experience in the editing discipline, able to teach courses across undergrad and grad programs.
• Avid Instructor Certification is preferred but not required.

Responsabilités

• Teach diverse students across undergraduate and graduate courses in editing, high-end post-production workflows, visual effects integration, and finishing for distribution.
• Foster anti-racist practices, inclusivity, and collaboration within the department and the broader LMU community.
• Engage in scholarly activities, mentorship, and service to the department and university.
