Loyola Marymount University’s Department of Theatre Arts seeks a tenure-line Assistant Professor in Acting and Performance to join a mission-driven program in Los Angeles. The candidate will teach a range of acting courses, coach actors for stage and screen, and advance a scholarly or creative practice aligned with LMU’s equity goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum MFA in Acting and/or Performance before or by August 2027.
• At least three years of university-level teaching beyond graduate study.
• Demonstrated expertise in teaching acting and/or coaching actors for stage and screen.
• Ability to teach a broad range of acting courses at multiple levels to diverse students.
• Experience with Stanislavski, Meisner, or other actor training approaches.
• Ongoing professional, creative, or scholarly practice.
• Commitment to inclusive, student-centered education and diverse backgrounds.

Responsabilités

• Teach acting at beginning to advanced levels, and acting for camera.
• Contribute to scholarly/creative activity and mentorship of undergraduates.
• Engage in service to department and university.
