Job summary

University of North Carolina at Pembroke invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in the College of Optometric Medicine. The role involves teaching in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings, course development and assessment, and supervising optometry students.

The candidate will engage in scholarly activity, participate in governance, and represent the College in professional and community settings while supporting accreditation efforts and upholding

Qualifications

• OD or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited institution.
• Eligibility for optometry licensure in North Carolina if clinical care is required.
• Completion of an accredited residency program or a minimum of three (3) years clinical experience with an active unrestricted license.
• Demonstrated ability to teach, mentor, or clinically supervise at the doctoral/professional level.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to excellence and to serving a diverse student population.

Responsibilities

• Teach in classroom, laboratory, and/or clinical settings; develop and assess courses.
• Supervise and mentor optometry students.
• Engage in scholarly activity and participate in institutional service and governance.
• Represent the College in professional and community settings.
• Support accreditation efforts and model professional, ethical clinical care.
• Perform other duties as assigned by College administration.
