Job summary

University of North Carolina at Pembroke seeks a full-time, non-tenure track faculty member to teach in classroom, laboratory, and possibly clinical settings. Responsibilities include course development and assessment, supervision and mentorship of optometry students, and scholarly activity in line with rank.

The position involves service, governance, and representation of the College in professional and community settings, with emphasis on accreditation support and ethical conduct.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited institution.
• Eligibility for optometry licensure in North Carolina (if OD)
• Demonstrated ability to teach, mentor, or supervise at the doctoral/professional level
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Commitment to excellence and to serving a diverse student population

Responsibilities

• Teach in classroom, laboratory, and possibly clinical settings.
• Develop and assess courses; supervise and mentor optometry students.
• Engage in scholarly activity; participate in institutional service and governance.
• Represent the College in professional and community settings; support accreditation efforts.
• Model professionalism and ethical conduct; perform other duties as assigned by administration.
