Job summary

Hood College in Frederick, MD is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing to lead teaching across undergraduate and graduate programs, with focus on adult health, health assessment, and pathophysiology. The position includes advising students and contributing to the Ruth Whitaker Holmes School of Behavioral and Health Sciences.

The role requires 3–5 years teaching, an RN license, a terminal degree (PhD or DNP), and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3–5 years of nursing teaching at undergrad and/or graduate level.
• Unencumbered RN license (Maryland) or multi‑state license.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of recent clinical RN practice.
• Demonstrated leadership in academic or clinical settings.
• PhD or DNP required; if PhD, must have a master’s in nursing.

Responsibilities

• Teach 21 credits in nursing (undergrad and graduate).
• Plan courses, write syllabi, and design assignments to meet curriculum requirements.
• Advise nursing students and participate in departmental work.
• Maintain weekly office hours and be available to students.
• Engage in scholarship and professional development.
