Job summary

The George Washington University School of Nursing invites qualified applicants for a tenure-track open rank faculty position. The School’s research interests include symptom science, oncology, behavioral health, health policy and population health.

This is a full-time, 12-month on-campus role beginning as early as fall 2026. The position emphasizes developing an independent research program, scholarly output, and teaching; it offers opportunities for collaboration within interdisciplinary teams

Qualifications

• Earned PhD by date of application.
• Nursing degree at any level.
• Emerging scholarship evidenced by presentations/publications.
• Track record of external funding.
• Strong methodological and statistical skills.
• Prior college-level teaching experience for in-person and online learning.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an independent, externally funded research program.
• Maintain scholarly productivity with publications and presentations.
• Teach courses as assigned.
• Mentor and advise students in research.
• Participate in collaborative, interdisciplinary research teams.
• Participate in faculty governance on committees.
• Engage in professional nursing and research organizations nationally and internationally.
