Job summary

North Carolina State University invites applications for a tenure-track, nine-month, full-time Assistant/Associate Professor in Music Technology. The successful candidate will develop an externally funded research program (45%) and teach courses in musical acoustics, psychoacoustics, recording, DSP, and related music technology areas.

• Requires a Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in music technology or related fields.
• Strong commitment to excellence in teaching.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop externally funded research program (45%) and teach courses (45%) in musical acoustics, psychoacoustics, sound isolation, recording, audio DSP, audio effects development, sound design, video game audio, and related areas.
• Assist in student advising and serve on department committees.
• Assist in management and maintenance of classroom and lab technology for hands-on experimental learning.
