West Texas A&M University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biology (Microbiologist) in Canyon, Texas. The appointment is 65% teaching, 30% research, and 5% service, with responsibilities spanning undergraduate and graduate courses, a developing microbiology research program, and scholarly service.

The candidate will advise students, engage in community education, and pursue extramural funding. The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Earned Ph.D. in Biology or related field (ABD not allowed).
• Proven excellence in teaching courses such as General Biology, Microbiology, and Applied Microbiology.
• Experience in seeking and obtaining extramural funding with strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Teach undergraduate and graduate biology/microbiology courses.
• Develop a dynamic research program with undergraduate/graduate student involvement.
• Provide academic service to the department and institution.
• Recruit and advise students for Life, Earth, & Environmental Sciences programs.
