Job summary

William & Mary seeks applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biology (Microbiology). The successful candidate will develop a funded research program, teach microbiology courses with labs, and supervise undergraduate and graduate students. The position begins August 10, 2027, with two courses per semester and service duties.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in microbiology or related field, postdoctoral experience, and the ability to conduct research in BSL-2 facilities.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in microbiology or related field by Aug 2027.
• 18 graduate credits in the teaching discipline.
• Postdoctoral experience required.
• Ability to teach compelling microbiology courses and labs.
• Develop an externally funded research program with undergraduates and graduates.
• Experience with BSL-2 environments.
