Job summary

The University of Washington Information School invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor, a nine-month academic appointment with a start date of September 1, 2027. The successful candidate will join our faculty on a full-time basis for a nine-month academic appointment, with a 3-year term, renewable beginning 2027.

Responsibilities include conducting high-quality research, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, performing service, and contributing to the School’s focus

Qualifications

• Applicants must hold a PhD (or foreign equivalent).
• Minimum 3 years of research experience during graduate studies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct high-quality research, and pursue extramural funding as needed to support research;
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in their area of specialization;
• Perform service that furthers the mission of the Information School and the University of Washington more broadly; and
• Contribute to the Information School’s strategic areas: climate change, health and wellness, healthy information environments, and responsibility in artificial intelligence.
