The Information School at the University of Washington invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Library Information Science, Seattle campus. The appointment begins September 1, 2027, with a nine-month academic year and renewal after three years.

We seek scholars who excel in research, teaching, and service and who will contribute to climate change, health, AI, and information ecosystems. Salary commensurate with experience and in line with UW policies.

Qualifications

• PhD (or foreign equivalent) required.
• Minimum 3 years of research experience.
• Evidence of strong teaching and service potential.

Responsibilities

• Conduct high-quality research and pursue extramural funding as needed.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in LIS.
• Perform service to the Information School and the University of Washington.
• Contribute to LIS areas: climate change, health, AI, and information ecosystems.
