Job summary

The University of Washington Information School invites applications for an Assistant Professor, nine-month academic appointment with a start date of September 1, 2027, on the Seattle campus. The successful candidate will join our faculty to excel in research, teaching and service within a diverse academic community.

The research area is Artificial Intelligence, including NLP, machine learning, computational social science, and human–AI interactions.

Qualifications

• PhD (or foreign equivalent) required.
• 3 years of research experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct high-quality research and pursue extramural funding as needed to support research.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in area of specialization.
• Perform service that furthers the mission of the Information School and the University of Washington.
• Contribute to the Information School’s strategic areas: climate change, health and wellness, healthy information environments, and responsibility in artificial intelligence.
