Job summary

The Department of Entomology and the School of Integrative Biology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign invite applications from entomologists with research portfolios in which insect biodiversity loss is a key element, including understanding how anthropogenic stressors such as land-use change, climate change, agriculture, invasive species, and pollution are causing declines in insect abundance and diversity.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in entomology, ecology, evolution, biology, zoology, genetics/genomics, conservation biology, or a related discipline.
• Evidence of teaching and mentorship effectiveness at undergrad/grad levels; may appoint as Instructor if PhD delayed but completed in first year.
• PhD requirement met, appointment converts to Assistant Professor after.

Responsibilities

• Develop an externally funded research program.
• Collaborate within the School of Integrative Biology and LAS.
• Undergraduate and/or graduate teaching as needed; participate in training.
• Provide service to the department, the university and the profession.
