Job summary

Cleveland State University Engaged Learning invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. The start is August 16, 2027, with rank commensurate to qualifications and experience.

Primary duties include teaching in neurologic physical therapy, curriculum development, research, mentoring students, and contributing to service. This is an on-campus position with potential evenings/weekends and distance-learning delivery

Qualifications

• Earned research doctorate in physical therapy or related field; terminal degree by July 1, 2027; ABD considered for Instructor.
• Physical therapist with eligibility for Ohio PT licensure.
• Minimum of one year of clinical physical therapy practice.
• Evidence of contemporary expertise in neurologic physical therapy.
• Evidence of ability to conduct and maintain research and scholarship.
• Evidence of teaching capability across the DPT Program.
• Strong interpersonal skills and collaboration capability.

Responsibilities

• Teach DPT courses with primary teaching in neurologic physical therapy.
• Engage in curriculum development and evaluation.
• Conduct and maintain research and scholarship.
• Mentor and advise students.
• Provide academic, professional, and community service.
• On-campus teaching with potential off-campus duties as needed.
