Faculty in the Physical Therapy Department contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of the DPT

Qualifications

• Eligible for licensure as a Physical Therapist in New York State.
• DPT degree with advanced specialty certification or a research/academic doctorate (NCS, PhD, EdD, DSc, etc.).
• Minimum of five years of clinical experience, including supervision of students.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach in the neurologic area of practice and contribute to the broader curriculum.
• Assist the Director of Clinical Education in delivering high-quality clinical education experiences.
• Develop, update, and evaluate course materials and assess student learning.
• Support student success through advising, mentorship, and office hours.
• Engage with clinical partners, the Simulation Center, and Thrive Rehabilitation Center to enhance experiential learning.
• Participate in department, school, and university committees, including Faculty Senate.
• Contribute to scholarship aligned with the Boyer Model (teaching, integration, application, discovery, engagement).
