Job summary

Indiana University Bloomington's Jacobs School of Music seeks a highly accomplished double bass musician and educator for a Tenure-track Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor position. The successful candidate will teach double bass across all degree levels, maintain a strong performing profile, and contribute to recruitment, auditions, and recital activities within a vibrant, nationally recognized program.

Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications.

Qualifications

• Extensive performing and teaching experience at the very highest levels of the profession.
• Bachelor’s degree in music or equivalent training required; advanced degrees preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach double bass across all degree programs, from freshmen to doctoral levels.
• Teach studio class and possibly teaching of orchestral repertoire class.
• Participate in departmental meetings, recruitment activities and auditions, doctoral committees, recital hearing committees, and other department activities.
