Texas A&M International University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders in Laredo, TX. This 9-month tenure-track position focuses on teaching, scholarly activity, and service within the College of Nursing & Health Sciences.

The successful candidate will teach courses, supervise field-based experiences, contribute to developing a Master’s program, and pursue external funding while supporting student success through face-to-face engagement on

Qualifications

• Must hold a doctorate in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
• ABDs will also be considered but must have earned a doctorate before appointment.
• Candidates must demonstrate potential for teaching, peer-reviewed scholarship, external funding, and supporting first-generation students, and hold or be eligible for Texas SLP licensure and/or ASHA CCC-SLP certification.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses in Communication Sciences and Disorders program.
• Evaluate students’ progress in coursework.
• Complete administrative aspects of assigned courses.
• Supervise field-based students or student internships when needed.
• Demonstrate scholarly productivity through publications and conferences.
• Assist in development of a Master’s program.
• Provide service to department, college and university.
