Qualifications

• PhD in psychology, communication, or closely related discipline.
• Record of research and publications.
• Teaching experience commensurate with rank.
• Administrative and supervisory experience as program coordinator/director or chair.

Responsibilities

• Modeling, supporting, and rewarding faculty excellence in teaching, research, scholarship, and service.
• Assessing, revising, innovating, and modernizing curricula.
• Coordinating course scheduling.
• Overseeing recruitment and hiring of new faculty.
• Credentialing and evaluating faculty.
• Managing the budget.
• Developing partnerships across the university and community.
• Providing support to students and recruitment/retention initiatives.
• Representing the department in college/university planning.
• Developing the department's proposed PhD in Counseling Psychology.
• Growing the Communication program at the Texas A&M-RELLIS campus.
