Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Criminology, Sociology, or a closely related discipline required by August 2027.
• Ability to integrate criminological and sociological perspectives in teaching and research.

• Commitment to excellence in teaching, mentoring, scholarship, and service.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in the criminology curriculum, including introductory, core, and upper-level offerings.
• Foster student learning through effective instruction, meaningful assessment, and constructive feedback.
• Mentor undergraduate students individually and in groups, including guidance on senior capstone theses and internships.
• Involve students in research when feasible.
• Support an inclusive, engaging learning environment that promotes student success.
• Develop and support experiential and community-engaged learning opportunities.
• Maintain an active scholarship agenda appropriate for a teaching-focused liberal arts institution.
• Contribute to curriculum development, assessment, and continuous improvement of the program and department.
• Participate in departmental, college, and professional service, including committee work.
• Stay current in the discipline through ongoing professional development.
