The Department of Studies in Justice, Culture & Social Change at the University of Minnesota Duluth invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Criminology to begin Fall 2027. The successful candidate will contribute to the Criminology and Sociology majors, maintain an active research agenda, and participate in service to the department

Qualifications

• Ph.D. by June 30, 2027 in criminology, criminal justice, justice studies, or sociology
• Experience teaching Criminology core courses (Intro to Criminology, Criminological Theory, Research Methods/Statistics)
• Evidence of an active research agenda

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses (approx. 5 classes/~16 credits per academic year)
• Advise undergraduate majors in the department programs
• Engage in research and maintain an active research agenda
• Provide service to the department, college, campus, discipline, and local community
