Mount Holyoke College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in clinical developmental psychology, beginning July 1, 2027. The Department seeks a scholar who will teach introductory and advanced courses and develop a vigorous undergraduate research program.

The ideal candidate holds a PhD in psychology or related field (ABD acceptable), has demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching, mentors a diverse student body, and will attract undergraduates to research.

Qualifications

  • PhD (ABD acceptable) in psychology or a related field.
  • Demonstrated record of strong undergraduate teaching.
  • Active research program that can engage undergraduate research assistants.
  • Experience mentoring students who are broadly diverse with regard to race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, disability, and religion.
  • Graduate-level training in clinical practice is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach 200-level courses in clinical and developmental psychology.
  • Teach advanced 300-level laboratory and seminar courses in the candidate’s area of specialization.
  • Contribute to one of three core courses: Introduction to Psychology, Statistics, or Research Methods.
  • Engage undergraduates as research assistants and mentor a diverse student body.
  • Develop and maintain an active research program that attracts undergraduate involvement.
