The School of Music at Tennessee Tech University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Clarinet, beginning August 1, 2027.

Responsibilities include teaching the clarinet studio, directing the clarinet choir, recruiting students, and administering the clarinet program while performing as principal clarinet with the Bryan Symphony Orchestra and Cumberland Quintet. ABD considered; degree must be conferred before start date.

Qualifications

• Earned Doctorate in Music required; ABD may be considered but degree conferred before start date.
• Evidence of excellence as a performer and teacher.

Responsibilities

• Teach the clarinet studio and direct the clarinet choir.
• Rehearse and perform as Principal Clarinet with the Bryan Symphony Orchestra and Cumberland Quintet.
• Administer all aspects of the clarinet program and recruit students.
• Build relationships with public school music teachers and participate in School of Music initiatives.
