The School of Music at Tennessee Tech University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Violin/Viola, beginning August 2027. You will teach Applied Violin and Viola, and run string pedagogy courses and String Methods.

You will also supervise the Tennessee Tech String Project, coach chamber groups, perform as Concertmaster with the Bryan Symphony Orchestra, and recruit students while supporting university service and outreach.

Qualifications

• Earned Doctorate in Music required (ABD may be considered).
• Evidence of excellence as a performer and teacher.

Responsabilités

• Teach Applied Violin and Viola to develop concert-ready technique.
• Teach string pedagogy courses and String Methods for pedagogy students.
• Supervise/teach in the Tennessee Tech String Project and coach string chamber groups.
• Perform as Concertmaster with the Bryan Symphony Orchestra and assist with string sectionals.
• Actively recruit violin/viola students and build relations with K-12 music teachers.
• Contribute to university service and outreach as part of duties.
