Texas A&M University Texarkana invites applications for a full-time, nine-month tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position in Civil Engineering, starting Fall 2027. The appointee will teach and develop courses, mentor students, and contribute to ABET efforts.

The successful candidate will establish a vigorous research program, pursue external funding, publish scholarly work, and collaborate across the college.

Competenze

• Earned doctorate in civil engineering with a concentration in Geotechnical, Geoenvironmental, and/or Environmental and Water Resources Engineering.
• Evidence of effective teaching in civil engineering courses and laboratories.
• Record of, or demonstrated potential for, active and impactful research, scholarly publication, and external funding appropriate for the rank sought.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• For Associate rank, a record of teaching, scholarship, and service that meets Texas A&M University Texarkana standards; normally at least five years of service at the Assistant Professor rank or equivalent experience.

• Teach civil engineering courses and labs as well as selected interdisciplinary engineering courses.
• Conduct course assessments to evaluate and improve student learning outcomes and program effectiveness.
• Advise students on academic and career matters.
• Engage in professional and scholarly activities, including research, publication, and participation in professional organizations.
• Serve on departmental, college, and university committees.
• Participate in outreach activities to promote the civil engineering program and engage with the community.
• Actively participate in student recruitment efforts to attract and retain talented students in the civil engineering program.
