Montana Technological University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the Chemistry & Geochemistry Department at the rank of assistant or associate professor, with expertise in inorganic, computational, biochemistry, and/or analytical chemistry.

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, advise students, conduct sponsored research, and develop an externally funded program aligned with the university’s priorities in energy, critical minerals,

Qualifications

• Earned doctoral degree in chemistry or related field by Aug 16, 2027, with emphasis in inorganic/biochem/analytical/computational chemistry.
• Postdoctoral or other postgraduate experience preferred but not required.
• University-level teaching experience preferred.
• Ability to build interdisciplinary, externally funded research programs.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in chemistry.
• Undergraduate courses include inorganic/analytical/biochemistry and intro topics.
• Graduate courses depend on the candidate’s expertise and program needs.
• Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
• Participate in departmental activities and service.
• Develop and maintain an externally funded research program with students.
