Montana Technological University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor in Chemistry & Geochemistry. The position starts in August 2027 with teaching of undergrad and graduate courses and mentoring students.

The successful candidate will develop an externally funded research program aligned with energy, critical minerals, and environmental restoration priorities. Applicants must hold a PhD in Chemistry or related field by Aug 16, 2027.

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry or closely related field by start date Aug 16, 2027 with emphasis in inorganic/biochemistry/computational/analytical chemistry.
• Postdoctoral or other postgraduate experience preferred but not required.
• University-level teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in areas of expertise.
• Advise and mentor students at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Develop and maintain an externally funded research program.
