Montana Tech in Butte, MT invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of History. The position begins August 16, 2027, with a normal teaching load of 9 credits per semester and responsibilities in advising, recruitment, and curriculum development.

The successful candidate will teach American History and World History surveys, contribute to student success efforts, and engage in scholarly activity within a supportive, campus-based environment.

Qualifications

• Earned PhD in History (or ABD with degree conferred by July 1, 2027).
• Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate survey courses in American History and World History.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate surveys in American History and World History.
• Advise students and contribute to recruitment, course creation, curriculum design and reviews.
• Engage in scholarly activity and service to the university.
