Job summary

Montana Technological University is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor in Petroleum Engineering for a full‑time, 9‑month tenure‑track position. A Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering or related field is required, with a strong commitment to teaching and research.

Duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, advising students, and building an applied research program. Candidates with PE licensure and prior teaching experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Demonstrated commitment to effective teaching and academic excellence.
• Valid Professional Engineering (PE) license.
• Prior collegiate teaching experience.
• Relevant professional work experience within the petroleum industry.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Petroleum Engineering, focusing on production engineering and surface facilities.
• Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
• Assist in developing an active applied research program, including supervising graduate research projects.
