Montana Technological University seeks an Assistant Professor of History in the Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences Department. This campus-based, tenure-track position begins Aug 16, 2027 and focuses on teaching American History and World History at the undergraduate level with a standard 9-credit load per semester.

The successful candidate will engage in research, advising, and service, contributing to curriculum development and student success initiatives within a collaborative faculty

Qualifications

• Earned PhD in History (or ABD with degree conferred by July 1, 2027).
• Ability to teach undergraduate survey courses in American History and World History.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in American History I & II and World History I & II.
• Advise students and contribute to recruitment, curriculum design and student success efforts.
• Engage in scholarly activity and service within the IAS department.
