Qualifications

• Ph.D. at the time of hire directly related to Soil Microbial Ecology.
• Evidence of research productivity
• Experience using state of the art research approaches in microbial ecology
• Research experience with microbial ecology in natural ecosystems, such as forests, grasslands, shrublands, and/or wetlands.
• Success with obtaining grant funding
• Experience mentoring undergraduate and/or graduate research
• Postdoctoral/faculty research experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Develop an externally funded research program in soil microbial ecology.
• Publish peer‑reviewed articles and mentor graduate students.
• Teach courses such as microbial diversity and ecology and other upper‑level classes.
