The Department of Microbiology at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse seeks a 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor starting 8/23/2027. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and possibly graduate courses, mentor students, and maintain an active scholarly program while contributing to service within the department and college.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Microbiology discipline or related field, to be earned by end of first academic year.
• Evidence of the ability to be an effective instructor.
• Evidence of clear and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses and advise students.
• Maintain currency in the content area and provide regular feedback on student work.
• Maintain records and hold office hours; participate in scholarship and service activities.
• Contribute to department, college, university, community and professional service.
