Job summary

North Carolina State University’s Department of Accounting in the Poole College of Management invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor of Accounting, starting August 2027. The department seeks candidates to build a vigorous research program and deliver high-quality instruction at undergraduate and graduate levels, including MAC and MBA programs.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Accounting (or will complete by Fall 2027).
• Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses including MAC and MBA.
• Scholarly research and publication record or clear potential.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to contribute to service.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a high-quality, impactful research program in accounting, resulting in publications in leading peer-reviewed journals.
• Deliver high-quality instruction in accounting at undergraduate and graduate levels (MAC and MBA programs).
• Contribute to teaching needs in managerial accounting, auditing, accounting information systems, analytics, AI, and related areas.
• Contribute to the academic mission through service and professional engagement.
• Collaborate with faculty and engage in a collegial, interdisciplinary environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the department head.
