Job summary

The Tennis Teaching Professional at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center delivers high-quality instruction to players of all ages and skill levels, serving as an ambassador for the NTC and USTA. The role focuses on R.O.G.Y. formats, junior and adult pathways, and supporting US Open events.

You lead private and group lessons, develop lesson plans, coordinate schedules, and uphold outstanding customer service and safety. Full-time, hourly, non-exempt with a salary of $70,000 to $90,000.

Qualifications

• Advanced tennis playing ability and strong technical knowledge.
• Experience teaching juniors and adults across skill levels.
• Experience coaching high-performance junior players.
• Strong understanding of USTA Player Development principles.
• Experience implementing R.O.G.Y. formats and junior development programs.
• Current certification through RSPA and/or PTR.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to adapt instruction to meet varying player needs.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and US Open events.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality tennis instruction to players of all ages and abilities.
• Demonstrate techniques, strokes, and drills with clear coaching.
• Lead junior tennis programs across NTC Pathways (10U to 18).
• Conduct adult programs from beginner to advanced levels.
• Provide private lessons, clinics, and team training sessions.
• Develop drills and lesson plans tailored to players' goals.
• Apply NTC teaching methodologies and USTA PD principles.
• Implement and manage R.O.G.Y. formats for junior development.
• Assist with tournaments, leagues, clinics, and events as needed.
• Support operations during the US Open and other activities.
