Yorba Linda Country Club in Yorba Linda, CA, seeks a part-time Tennis Professional to provide private and group lessons on Sundays and fill in during the week. Willingness to cover tennis shop shifts is required.

Compensation ranges from $16.90 to $17.00 per hour plus commissions; stringing racket services offer additional earnings. USTA Safe-Play certification and 4.5+ rating are required; AA degree and 3–5 years of head pro experience preferred.

We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

Compensation:

$16.90 - $17.00 per hour plus commission, extra commission can be earned for stringing rackets.

Summary:

Will give private and/or group lessons on Sunday's and fill in for other coaches' private/group lessons throughout the week as needed. This person must also be willing to cover tennis shop shifts if needed.

General Purpose:

Implements tennis programs to give private and/or group lessons on Sunday's and fill in for other coaches' private/group lessons as needed.

• Initiates, directs and promotes tennis clinics, special events and programs in an effort to attract and maintain members’ tennis interests.
• Provides beginning through advanced instruction (private and group) for all levels of players.
• Enforces all club rules and regulations governing the use of the club/facility, its equipment and other property.
• Properly represents the club in state or national events as time will permit.
• Works cooperatively with other departments.
• Ensures proper inspection of the courts/facilities on a daily basis prior to the start of play and ascertain that all necessary maintenance has been performed and the courts are in a safe working order. Reports any maintenance problems to the department manager or Maintenance Manager.
• Performs racquet stringing.
• Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.

Education/Experience:

Associate’s degree (AA); and three to five years related experience as a head tennis professional/instruction; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands:

• Frequently stands, walks, uses hands; talks and hears, reaches with hands and arms, climbs, balances; stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls.
• Occasionally sits.
• Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.

Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.

Certificates/Licenses:

• USTA Safe-Play Certification.
• Must be USTA rated 4.5 or higher or have similar competitive tennis experience.

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:

Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
