Job summary

The University of Pennsylvania's Tennis Center is seeking a part-time tennis professional to conduct lessons for all ages and ability levels across its 8 indoor and 12 outdoor courts. This position offers a flexible schedule and opportunities to run clinics, program camps, and private instruction in a premier athletic facility.

You will teach clinics and private lessons, work evenings, weekends, and holidays, and promote Penn Tennis Center programs while maintaining equipment and delivering

Qualifications

• PTR or USPTA certification preferred.
• College tennis experience or 3.0+ rating is a plus.
• Experience teaching juniors and adults across a wide range of ability levels (10 and under to 4.0+).
• CPR certification.
• Some computer skills will be needed; strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in developing and improving tennis skills; assess and tailor instruction.
• Communicate with players in clinics and private lessons; organize clinics.
• Maintain and organize Penn Tennis Center equipment; report repairs or replacements as needed.
• Promote Penn Tennis Center programs, clinics, camps, and socials.

Job Description

Responsibilities/Duties

• Assisting students in developing and improving various tennisskills. Assessing students' tennis skills to determine areas inneed of improvement. Coordinating and conducting individual andgroup tennis lessons. Developing suitable instruction for studentsbased on their age, objectives, and individual skillsets.
• Ability to communicate with players in both clinics and privatelessons. Manage and organize tennis clinics. This includes but isnot limited to providing appropriate drills/gameplan based on thelevel of players.
• Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of Penn Tennis Centerequipment. Notify management if on-court equipment needs to be repaired or replaced.
• Promote all Penn Tennis Center programs and events. Thisincludes clinics, holiday and summer camps, and socials.

Duties

Tennis instructors will be required to teach both clinics andprivate lessons for the members and non-members of Penn TennisCenter. Tennis Instructor must be able to work evenings during theweek, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) or United States ProfessionalTennis Association (USPTA) certification preferred. College tennisexperience or 3.0 player rating is a plus for this position.Experience teaching junior and adult tennis players with awide-range of ability levels: 10 and under to 4.0+ Adult tennisplayers. CPR certification. Some computer skills will be needed.Excellent communication skills. Can cooperatively work in a teamenvironment.
