Job summary

Schnellecke in Chattanooga seeks an experienced Bid & Offer Manager to drive tender activity and develop competitive logistics solutions for new business. You will coordinate cross-functional teams and ensure timely, compliant proposals.

Key tasks include requirement analysis, costings, and presenting offers to senior management. Strong English and German, plus extensive logistics know-how, are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in business administration, logistics, transport, industrial engineering or comparable.
• Completed vocational training with relevant management experience.
• Knowledge and experience in solution design at senior level.
• In-depth expertise in logistics processes, pricing, project management, sales and customer acquisition.
• Very good MS Office, CRM system and SharePoint proficiency.
• Knowledge of AI tools (CoPilot, ChatGPT, etc.).
• MTM UAS/Logistics knowledge.
• Fluent in German and English.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage tender activity and lead the quotation process for new business.
• Coordinate requirements with bid teams, technical management, and other involved departments.
• Prepare and analyze customer needs, deadlines, and offer content for tenders.
• Conceive competitive logistics solutions and optimize offers.
• Run costings for complex projects including personnel and equipment.
• Collaborate with departments on offer preparation and deliver presentations to leadership.
• Support contract negotiations and handover won projects to OpEx.

About this position

Description:

Objective

• Independent execution of the activity of the offer manager in Group Business Development for the professional development of competitive logistical solutions and offers
• Responsibility for the coordination, quality and efficiency of all processes (national and international) for the acquisition of new customers and projects within the framework of tenders.
• Development of market strategies and further development of Schnellecke service products
• Further development of tender strategies per market segment and customer

Requirements:

• Takeover of the quotation lead primarily new business
• Resource and scheduling planning, as well as close cooperation with the departments involved in the bid processing process and technical management of project teams in the tender process
• Preparation and analysis of customer requirements from tenders and inquiries
• Responsibility for deadlines, quality, format and content of the offers
• Conception of competitive logistics solutions for customers
• Review and optimization (e.g. personnel, equipment), warehouse planning, if necessary. Layout creation, cost and price determination from the OpEx department
• Costing (e.g. personnel, equipment) of complex projects, warehouse planning, layout creation, cost and price determination
• Close cooperation with the departments involved in the preparation of the offer
• Participation in and presentation of presentations for discussions with the board and/or regional management
• Participation in and presentation of customer projects
• Support/participation in contract negotiations
• Benchmarking of offer concepts, service levels and processes
• Use and optimization of the CRM system and SharePoint storage
• Handover of won projects to OpEx
• Ensuring compliance with accident prevention regulations as well as compliance with regulations for occupational safety, health, fire protection and environmental protection

Requirements

• Degree in business administration, logistics, transport, industrial engineering or comparable courses of study at a college, university, university of applied sciences, university of cooperative education
• Completed vocational training with relevant professional experience in a management position
• Knowledge and experience in solution design at least at senior level
• In-depth expertise in logistics processes (transport, warehouse, SCM), pricing, project management, sales and customer acquisition
• Very good user experience in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio), CRM system & Sharepoint, calculation tools
• Knowledge of AI use (CoPilot, ChatGPT,etc.)
• Expert MTM UAS/Logistics (Methods-Time Measurement) knowledge
• Fluent in German & English
