Job summary

Optiv is seeking a Tenable Cybersecurity Engineer to design, deploy, configure, and maintain Tenable components across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments. The role focuses on tuning detections, building investigative workflows, and integrating with SIEM/SOAR and other security tools.

You will collaborate with SOC, network, cloud, and identity teams to analyze telemetry, respond to incidents, and drive continuous improvement in threat detection and response.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance required at time of hire.
• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 5+ years of relevant cybersecurity engineering or security operations experience.
• Hands-on experience deploying, configuring, tuning Tenable or comparable platforms.
• Experience in regulated environments (DoD, federal) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, administer, and maintain Tenable platform components across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud environments.
• Configure detections, alert thresholds, and investigative workflows to align with threat models and security operations.
• Collaborate with SOC, network, cloud, identity, and incident-response teams to investigate and contain events.
• Develop use cases for threat detection, triage, and escalation across enterprise security domains.
• Integrate Tenable with SIEM/SOAR, identity, cloud-security, and log-management platforms.
• Produce technical reports and runbooks detailing findings, health, and tuning recommendations.
