Job summary

Optiv + ClearShark is seeking a Tenable Cybersecurity Engineer to design, deploy, and support Tenable capabilities across enterprise networks, endpoints, cloud, and identity. You will work with SOC, network, cloud, and incident-response teams to improve threat detection and response.

You will translate detections into actionable outcomes, maintain integrations with SIEM/SOAR, and develop runbooks and architecture diagrams for secure operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in cybersecurity, IT, engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in cybersecurity engineering, security operations, or related roles.
• Hands-on Tenable deployments and security-platform administration.
• Experience integrating security tools with SIEM/SOAR platforms.
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts and packet analysis.
• Experience in regulated or federal environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Tenable components across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud environments.
• Tune detections, thresholds, and workflows to align with threat model and operations.
• Lead or support Tenable capabilities across network, endpoint, cloud, SaaS, and identity domains.
• Perform platform health checks, capacity planning, and troubleshooting.
• Analyze telemetry to identify malicious activity and tuning opportunities.
• Collaborate with SOC, incident response, threat hunters, and engineers to investigate and contain events.
• Develop use cases for detection, triage, and investigation across security domains.
• Integrate Tenable with SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, identity, cloud, and log-management platforms.
• Use APIs, webhooks, and scripting to automate workflows and exchange security events.
• Produce technical reports and briefings on activity, risk, and trends.
• Participate in architecture reviews and advise on telemetry coverage and detection strategy.
