Job summary

Optiv Federal Inc. is seeking a Tenable Cybersecurity Engineer to design, deploy, configure, and support Tenable across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments. You’ll work with security operations, network, cloud, and identity teams to improve threat detection and incident response.

The role requires a strong background in network detection, security monitoring, and automation, with experience integrating security tools and performing risk-based tuning in regulated or federal environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, engineering or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 5+ years of relevant cybersecurity engineering, security operations, network security or incident response experience.
• Hands-on experience with Tenable or comparable platforms and enterprise security tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, administer, and maintain Tenable platform components across on‑premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.
• Tune detections, thresholds, and workflows to align with threat models and security operations processes.
• Collaborate with SOC, network, cloud, and identity teams to investigate and contain security events.
• Develop and maintain use cases for threat detection and incident response across domains.
• Configure integrations between Tenable and SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, and log-management platforms.
